Have you ever thought about what it would be like if your parents sent you away to a Military School? I’m pretty sure my parents threatened me with such as a child! Of course times have changed and an opportunity to go to a school like Norwich University is more a privilage than a punishment. It’s also an experience that in unrepeatable and therefore cherished.
This leads into my latest project:
“A Rook Photo a Day” – A photography book inspired by a group of dedicated parents and families of the 2015 class of Rooks who came together and asked me to create a book preserving the visual memories of their first days, weeks and months as Rooks.
The book is currently being created as I type, and coming together with my own imagery from the day the Rooks arrived onto campus last Fall, till my final days working as their photographer. The project is purely funded by the Rooks’ families and every contributing families’ Rooks are invited to share their own words, while parents are submitting personal images to round out the story of what it means to be a Rook.
This book will not be made available to the public, not associated with the University, and a privately commissioned work for the parents and families of the Rooks photographed. It is opened to every Rook and Rook family of the 2015 class. It is the only book of it’s kind that we are aware of, and a special treat to be the one producing it!
