Phew! The daylight hours are filled with shooting, editing, booking shoots, answering emails, making phone calls, more editing, uploading, invoicing, answer more emails…
Being a professional photographer breaks out to about one part invested into creating images and about three parts focused on all things necessary to run a small business and make a photo-shoot go off without a hitch. On that note, if any of my readers are just starting out, I can not recommend enough a book by John Harrington, “Best Business Practices for Photographers, Second Edition.” It’s a must have for the library.
That’s the boring part of the post (though very important part,) let’s get to the good stuff: My freshly tweaked website!
To help drive home how passionate I am about all things “Fresh,” and “Local” to me, played around in the galleries (new work – check it out!) and everything on the home page was shot in Vermont. There is plenty more to come, but all this happens when the sun goes down and a glass of red wine… so it takes a little longer!
By the end of this week, final details and postings for the October Family Portrait Days at East Warren Community Market (very excited about this!) They will be October 8th and 9th, 30 minute sessions per family and most likely starting from 11 and going thru 4pm the latest. I’ll have a “weather/make-up” date for October 16th (but lets hope we don’t need it!)
Before then, if you want to meet me sooner, see me in action, AND support the local farmer’s and artisans – Save August 25th and come on down to the East Warren Community Markets SECOND Farmer’s Market of the Summer. I believe it get’s underway at 4pm (it was AWESOME – don’t miss out!)
Till then, please scope out the site, let me know what you think!
